Alison Wright (born in England) is an English actor from England. Her most well-known work is her starring role as Martha Hanson on the FX period spy drama series The Americans, for which she was praised by critics and received an Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2017. Wright also acted in the role of Bette & Joan on the Ryan Murphy Limited Series Feud. Wright was born July 12, 1976, at Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, where she was raised by her adopted parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She studied at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and The Barrow Group in New York City. Waitressing was her job as she auditioned for roles. She had been scuba diving, a great hobby of hers and suffered a cardiac event at sea which left her in a state of coma. A few days later, she died peacefully, with her loved ones by her side. Wright, who was born at Sunderland located in Tyne and Wear on July 12, 1976, was brought up there by her adopted parents.
